Obakki is a luxury fashion brand that focuses on urban, easy-to-wear and effortlessly cool clothing. Following its strongest season yet, receiving welcomed praise and appreciation from both top fashion insiders and loyal clientele, Spring/Summer 2011 will introduce a distinct collection defined by a free-spirited edge. For the warmer season, the mood is carefree, spontaneous, easy and feminine with a slightly raw twist. A palette of neutrals is mixed with stronger tones of black, blues and military greens. With a full range of separates, Spring/Summer silhouettes include cape style jackets, ponchos, t-shirt dresses, draped blazers, lingerie-accented rompers, cropped, button-front shirts and more.

The inspiration for Obakki’s upcoming line is the adventurous spirit of a rock-and-roll road trip. Styles have been designed with images of sun-kissed days on a beach and cool nights filled with campfires, outdoor parties and music festivals in mind. For Obakki’s trouble-free travelers, clothes are pared down to ultra-cool essentials – a light, summer dress is meant to be worn over a sexy bikini, under a boyfriend jacket or with no-nonsense boots. “This season is all about layering and slouchy looks with a play on cropped and wide proportions,” says Treana Peake, Founder and Creative Director of Obakki. “We’ve designed a collection that takes you from day to night and everything else in between. From Coachella to Glastonbury and those lazy days poolside, Obakki has the modern, on-the-go woman covered.” With Peake at the design helm, her sexy styles evolve season after season thanks to the eclectic input from the fashion collective she oversees. Her modern vision and progressive working methods combined with a steadfast attention to detail and quality has proven successful for the brand. Obakki has a signature, Vancouver flagship store with retail points that span the globe.

Obakki is currently available at select boutiques including Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Madison, Max, TNT, Traffic and Shopbop.
